They Carry More Than a backpack

1.6 million American children have a parent actively serving in the military. They go to school every day carrying something most of their peers never think about. Project Gratitude makes sure they know their community sees them.

"Military children serve in their own quiet way. At the Military and Veteran Campus, it is not lost on us that they need to feel just as seen, supported, and connected as the service members they stand beside, so we are excited to partner with Project Gratitude on this powerful endeavor."
— Brie McKeage, VSO Outreach Manager, Easterseals NH Military & Veterans Campus

Honoring the Children of Our Heroes

When a parent puts on a uniform and serves our country, their child serves too. They endure long separations, disrupted holidays, and the quiet weight of worry that no child should have to carry alone. Project Gratitude exists to make sure those children are seen by their communities. We are on a mission to deliver a signed card from a civilian student to every one of the 1.6 million military-connected children in America — this would mark the largest civilian acknowledgment of military children in U.S. history and a Guinness World Record. We partner with schools and student oriented organizations to make that happen. The result is simple and powerful: a military child receives a real, personal message from a real student saying — I see you. I am grateful for what your family gives to all of us. You are not alone.
